‘Bolt from the Blue’
sets me thinking of the strong winds that come
hand-in-hand with the lightning,
most of the time.
So protecting ourselves and our homes comes naturally.
Lightning!
We all know Singapore, being a Green City,
has many trees.
Beautiful on a clear day.
There will be that windy threatening sky.
And it will make me look out my windows,
for those very tall trees
that I love watching every morning
There are trees that look deceivingly fine,
on the outside but are ‘decaying’ on the inside.
This will inevitably, weaken the tree,
causing it to break and fall.
Many trees were up-rooted recently during the storms.
Even huge ones.
Will the home insurance cover the damages, or are they classified under
natural disasters with no coverage.
These trees that's swaying and swaying away..
Makes me wonder, how strong are they..
Bending even more during storms.
I can't imagine the mayhem and havoc they will cause should any break.
This was one of the trees I saw,
being up-rooted after one stormy night.
being up-rooted after one stormy night.
There were quite a few of them along the way.
Reported in the papers of a ‘Man killed by falling branch’…
These trees that I saw, looked similar in size and they can be so deadly.
DO NOT under estimate a small or slim tree,
NOT even a branch.
See the damages done during a ‘freak storm’
and a ‘driver’s near miss..’ on these links.
STAY CLEAR of all trees during storms.
On the Climatology of Singapore, rain or shine,
this link will explain the seasonal weather periods.
I love our tropical island, Singapore.
Rain or shine, with or without trees.
Just be careful of the dark shadow (the trees) on a wet day.
Check the trees in your home.
