Shell Fishes : before they are served

There are many kinds of unusual sea food.
Ever wondered how some may look,
before they are severed on a dish?

Here are some pictures of the live ones at this Seafood Restaurant
They come in many shapes and sizes.
Some are a little quirky,
which I would rather,
only see it as a dish.

The Alaskan KING Crab
that commands a royalty price.
Currently, the price is about S$138 per kg.
As each crab weighs about 3 to 4 kg,
one crab may cost over $400.00.
A truly extravagant dish.
THE ALASKAN KING CRAB.

These are called "La La King'
Big name for these small shells..
LA LA KING.

Why were they named 'Robin Triton'
It sounds more like a person's name.
Could it be named after the founder?
ROBIN TRITON.

Notice the significant texture on the shells that make them different.
MASIMA TELLIN CLAM.

Also called 'Surf Clams'.
ALASKAN HOKKIGARI (Surf Clam)

This crab looks quite nice with its shades of brown.
DUNGENESS CRAB.

The quirky ones..
That I don't know how to describe.
It's called 'Geoduck'
No resemblance of a duck at all.
Pricey!
About S$128.00 per kg and each could easy weigh over a kilogram.
CANADIAN GEODUCK.

These shells are big but pleasant looking unlike 'Geo' above.
It can be made into a good collection of display for the home.
Remember to take the shells home with you after the food.
Make your own creation by painting, pasting silver and coloured dust or feathers
on the shells and you will have yourself an art piece.
Placing them on vanity tables anywhere in the home.
